Beyond Bloom opens Devon chain
The move to Devon
After working in the fashion industry in Vienna and London for many years, I decided I was a horticulturist at heart, so I retrained, and 15 years on – I haven’t looked back. I initially established Beyond Bloom in South West London – it’s now flourishing – but I always yearned to move to Dartmoor – I’ve been visiting the area for 30 + years and always knew I would live there one day, so – I decided, ‘let’s do it!’
Dartmoor is one of the most unique and inspiring landscapes I know. Defined by its majestic rivers, tors, forests and adorable ponies – I often lose myself along its trails winding through a spellbinding scenery of medieval architecture, Bronze Age stone circles and picturesque villages, with the friendliest of people.
The moor also lends a great source of inspiration to my career, especially to my garden design consultancy. Walking the vast moorland evokes a creative lubricant, resulting in some of my most innovative projects throughout the UK and beyond.
Living on Dartmoor has also allowed me to own more land, where – I’m able to produce from a small private nursery that serves my clients in Devon and London, with plants for their gardens – a rewarding process that my partner manages. Echium’s of all varieties are his favourite, and he’s currently protecting some giants from the frost, ready for planting next year. I’m sure we’ll be posting a blog dedicated to all things Echium in the not too distant future!
Thanks to my massively talented team, cherished clients and years of hard work, Beyond Bloom is well established in London, so now I’m focussing on growing the business in Devon (my permanent residence). Currently working in Dartmoor, Exeter and Cornwall is a privilege, as every day is a new adventure, working for our fantastic new clients – in such a beautiful part of the world and Im looking forward to a bright future on Dartmoor.
Have a lovely weekend all!
